The Serpent Frequently Asked Questions

Below are the most common questions asked by our delightful readers so please check below before contacting us. If you have any questions about our premium services the Serpent offer, please use the feedback page.

Q) The download I want is out of date, what gives!?

A) Yes it's true. Sometimes we don't always keep on top of our downloads. We do however check them often to make sure we link to the newest version of a file, however this isn't always possible. When in doubt, follow the link provided with the download to visit the downloads homepage, where you'll be able to get the newest version.

Q) What happened to the reviews?

A) They died... horribly. We took them offline because we weren't really getting many new submissions for new reviews, and there's plenty of sites out there who specialize in it.

Q) Can I contribute to an article\review?

A) Yes! If there is a comments section for an article or review (all reviews have a comments section) then please fill free to make a comment\suggestion (keep it clean please!), if you are interested in writing a piece on a regular basis, please contact us via the feedback form.

Q) Some information you have published is wrong, can you change it?

A) Depending on the nature of the information. If we have simply get our facts wrong please tell us! We welcome the scrutiny and sheer exposure of our lack of competence, however we are always striving to get information correct so please use the feedback form! If it's an opinion your arguing with, please post it as a comment, or if you can't do that, set your own website up and tell the world we are daft idiots.

Q) What does FAQ stand for?

A) You just have to include this one since soooo many people ask, it stands for 'Frequently Asked Questions'.

Q) I've downloaded something and it don't work!

A) All downloads are tested by us regularly so if you are having problems try downloading the file again. If you are still having problems please contact the vendor of the software since most downloads are linked from other sites.

Q) Can I copy an article and place it on my site?

A) All content of The-serpent.co.uk is copyright. If you wish to duplicate some content, please contact us first. It depends on the nature of the content as well as where you want to move it to. You can understand we wouldn't want to be affiliated with some high class porn site unless we were being 'compensated' in some way... :P

Q) I've found a bug\broken link in the site? Will you fix it!?

A) Yes! If you tell us. Our administrators are made aware of problems with broken links, however sometimes, the automatic broken link software breaks.... leaving us with a big mess, so please use the feedback form just in case.

Q) Are you secretly evil webmasters who collect information and sell it?

A) No the courts stopped that along time ago. Kidding. We have never sold or never will sell any information collected on this site. We are a non-profit website which only exists to share information. This website is not driven by financial gain (unless we actually start making money and become filthy, perverted businessmen). For more information on our privacy policy, please see the 'about' page.

Q) What are the browser requirements to use this site?

A) This is a bit of an old question now, and if the site looks very screwed, then the answer is 'not yours', however for the record it works best on 1024 x 768. The Serpent should render fine in all the major browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera.
